Parenting Fail: At the movies version

Citizens: this was from a while back, but as I'm transcribing relevant blogs from The Book of Heavy Metal over to this space, I felt it deserved a spot :D

So it's July 3rd, I have two days off, I'm tired of beating the crap out of Eclipse mercs in Mass Effect 2, and none of my friends are around to hang. I decide to go check out The Amazing Spider-Man at the local cineplex. Show starts at 8pm, I got my popcorn and soda in hand, and the theater is packed. Then random chance decided to take a huge dumper on me (yet again) and I pick a seat where within 5 minutes are seated a family consisting of two twentysomething parents, and their THREE children, approximately 3, 4, and 5 years of age. Let 2 hours of irritation begin.

Now, I'm not a parent, nor do I plan on being one (mainly because I like money, sanity, and sleep). I will say that I'm pretty fucking sure I know what not to do if I were one, however. I don't know if this couple randomly found these devilspawn and decided to just take them along on any outing they go on, because they sure didn't act like they knew what they were doing as parents. Strike that, they didn't do ANYTHING a parent would do in this instance.

The movie starts. I'm eager to see it because I couldn't stand Tobey Mcguire, or Kirsten "my character is a stupid bitch" Dunst, and I'm enjoying it, for the first 10-15 minutes. I'm trying to ignore the constant babbling directly behind me perpetrated by 3 toddlers who have no fucking idea what is going on, and unfortunately it's not working. I keep waiting for their parents to tell them to stop talking, and I'm not hearing it. I turn around and I ask politely "Hey, please be quiet?". I get a nod from the father, and then he just goes back to the movie, completely ignoring his talkative child, who is now asking "Daddy what did he say? What does quiet mean?".

This is my nightmare.

The rest of the movie continued as can be expected with small children, and needless to say, while I immensely enjoyed the flick, I would have enjoyed it about 100% more if these two assholes had not been there with their little irritants. Let me break it down for you, so that if you are, or know anyone, who does this, you'll be able to make things better for everyone else.

First: It is 8pm. Why the FUCK are your children not in bed at this time? When I was a child my bedtime was 8:00 no matter what, until I was in junior high. Why are you dragging toddlers around town at this time?

Second: This movie is rated PG-13. I know no one gives a shit about movie ratings, but you know, you really should. I think it is wildly inappropriate to take 5 year olds to a PG-13 movie, because they will have no fucking idea what is going on, and this was most definitely not a kids movie. If I saw the Lizard in this movie when I was that age I would have nightmares for a solid week.

Third: If you can't afford to hire a babysitter to watch your kids for 3 hours while you have dinner and see a movie, then maybe you should just stay the fuck home. The world is not your babysitter, these people were pretty much completely ignoring their kids as they watched this movie.

If the theater weren't so packed, I'd have moved to a different seat. AND I'd have told them why before I did it. I was about ready to pitch that kid all the way down to the bottom of the stadium seating, that's how irritated I was. The constant questions progressed to fidgeting (and kicking my seat), and then on into whining because they were bored/tired/hungry. I literally had to get right up and leave as soon as it ended to keep myself from doing something that would land me in jail.

I just don't understand why it's so impossible for people to behave like parents nowadays. I think this photo says it best, though:

I can see this happening to those kids if the trend continued. Indulgent parenting, aka "Do whatever you want because I think you should be a free spirit or because I'm not going to be mean like my parents". It's actually NON-parenting. And it has to stop. If I did any of the above mentioned things, I'd have been given one warning, (which I would have promptly forgot since I was FIVE) and then get marched home and probably get my butt smacked for disobedience.

I don't have kids and even I know that young children like that are NOT going to sit still for a full 2.5 hour movie, let alone a fucking half hour cartoon. I know your kid might like Spider-Man on saturday mornings, but bringing them to the adult version of the film is irresponsible and wildly inappropriate. It's also supremely inconsiderate to everyone else there, because you ruin their good time with your little brats who don't understand anything about how they're supposed to behave outside the house. They're having a grand old time cause they don't know any better, while their asshole parents just ignore them and inflict them on the rest of us. I know you've probably gotten very good at tuning out the incessant babbling/whining/fidgeting, but I haven't, and I shouldn't have to deal with it.

I feel like there should be some kind of license to have children, to prove that you can be a capable parent. I know the implementation of this would be extremely difficult, and of course all the breeders would scream about not being able to shit out half a dozen retard babies, but seriously, we have WAY too many stupid assholes in this country, and it's not really getting better. Parenting is not a natural phenomenon, it's a skill like any other, and a lot of people just don't have it, or can't develop it. They're the ones who are crappin out kids like it's their job cause God says it's bad to use birth control or some other bullshit.

So in summation: If you don't do anything to actively keep your child from annoying the rest of us, don't be surprised when someone like me gives you an earful. I'm glad my parents gave me structure and discipline as a kid, because I've grown into a successful, non-douchebag intellectual. These kids are gonna turn into spoiled little shits who will scream and cry when anyone says 'no' to them.

I hate people.

That will be all.

Einstein had it right all along

I'm sure some of you have seen this before:

Sad, but true, nonetheless. I walk around my city, I travel to various places, and I am disgusted by the rampant idiocy that surrounds me. I know stupidity is not endemic to America, but I'm pretty sure we've got the lion's share. I don't know if it's something in the food, subliminal signals in all those adverts, or something else entirely. I did test all of my sunglasses to see if they would reveal anything, but alas, there was nothing. Not even Rowdy Roddy Piper showed up to help me out.

This is the Decade of the Stupid Attention Whore, which has continued for 13 years now. I'm hoping the trend will stop before the twenty year mark, but I'm not holding out much hope. Celebrity worship is one of the most retarded things that a society can engage in, and it's all too common here. I blame Jersey Shore for the latest influx of duckfaces and douchebags, but then, one could blame Jersey Shore for any number of things and still have room for more. Someone had brought up the idea that the whole show was scripted, which to me seems preposterous. I honestly can't believe that anyone would basically trash their entire public image on purpose just to be paid to act like that in a "reality" show.

I think that's when TV programming started to get worse than it already was: reality TV. I mean come on, Survivor? A show that rewards people for surviving in a place where people already live! "I don't have my cell phone guys, this is really hard!" Ah, Daniel Tosh, telling it like it is. But I digress.

Reality shows like Flavor of Love, Next Top Model, and other assorted intellectual garbage are part of the problem. People watch this shit and think "I could be like that person!" and get their 15 minutes. The worst contributor to this smorgasbord of dumb is MTV. MTV is no longer about music. It should be called Moron TV, because that's basically the only people who watch it. I literally want to end every single person who appear on shows like "16 and Pregnant" and "Teen Mom". Even thinking about the stupid little sluts who get knocked up just to be on TV makes my head want to explode all over the place. How people can think this shit is acceptable is beyond me.

I'll admit, every once in a while I like to watch something a little lowbrow, like Dude Where's My Car?, but that is stupidity with purpose. I don't even have a cable subscription anymore. I wouldn't watch anything that is on TV right now. Netflix streaming makes my entertainment much more awesome. It's painful to have to listen to people gush about the next True Blood episode and who their favorite douchebag is on American Idol. Seriously, who gives a fuck about some jerkoff who can sing other people's songs halfway decently? I do that at metal shows all the time, no one gives me a fucking medal.

I don't know if there is a cure for this epidemic. It's daunting to try to break into the novel business when most Americans think reading is stupid and only something huge nerds do. It's sad to see people who don't know simple things, such as the fact that Europe is not a country. Exempli gratia:

I can't even make this shit up. The fact that we have a show called Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? is just another nail in the coffin of our national intellect. Yes, kid in the last frame, you're right to laugh at the dumb blonde. You'll end up making more money than she'll see in her lifetime. Unless of course she marries some rich old dude *shudder*.

If you don't read books just for the hell of it, I encourage you to do so. Go outside and read a book in the park. Watch useful shows like stuff on the History channel. Don't give a single fuck for the latest trend/fad/celebrity whore. You're better than that. Republicans are challenging the president's drive to make higher education more accessible to the public. It's because dumb people are more apt to believe the religious bullshit they're peddling. I don't think anyone in this country aspires to be a garbageman or a burger-flipper. Stay intelligent, my friends, or THIS might happen to YOU:

Logical Fallacies Part Deux: Chemical Boogaloo

So as most of you know, I'm an atheist. I'm not an atheist because it's the cool thing to do, or because my parents didn't love me (they do, they're awesome), or because I'm an asshole. Well, I AM an asshole, but I don't TELL anyone that because that'd open up another whole can of worms.

I'm an atheist for one simple reason: Evidence. The thing that irritates me most about theists, and Christians specifically, is that they actively deny verified, observable evidence because it conflicts with their fairy tale world. Willful ignorance of the simplest of scientific concepts drives me up the wall.

So I'm a member of a few atheist facebook pages, mainly to get a laugh at the theist trolls who try to start shit for no reason, and I see one thread where this colossal moron named Scot Brandon tries to tell US what OUR beliefs are, most notably, the retarded idea that "living things come from nonliving things". When religious types say this, what they're implying is that atheists think that plants were created by rocks and fish magically appeared from water. This is yet another logical fallacy, brought to you by the mental incompetents of Christendom.

Protip: all matter is nonliving. "Life" is a descriptor used by humans to distinguish between inanimate objects and animate ones. Things we term "living" are nothing more than a complex amalgamation of chemical processes and cellular compounds that can reproduce itself utilizing more chemical processes.

That's it. Anyone who tries to tell you that life is anything more than that is applying romanticized philosophy to a self-aware existence. This is not to say that one should not make the most out of the time they have before their chemical processes no longer function, but to claim that life is a sacred thing that was created by a higher power and we shouldn't question it is, on it's face, completely ludicrous.

For those who don't know, we are all made up of stellar matter. Star stuff. Stars are colossal elemental forges that create every known element in the Universe through a simple process called nuclear fusion. The reason why everything on the planet Earth is based on a carbon-12 template is because when a star runs out of hydrogen fuel to "burn" (parentheses are to keep theists from bombarding me with the 'things can't burn without oxygen dummy' comments), it then starts to fuse helium atoms together. Three helium atoms combine to form stable carbon-12 atoms. In more massive stars the process goes even further (thus the heavier elements), but a large amount of stars don't have enough mass to go further than this. When stars go supernova, all of those atoms are blasted out into space, some to be used in the creation of new stars, some remain as gaseous nebulae, and some are trapped in forming planetary systems, such as EARTH.

Carbon-12 is an amazing thing. It is one of the only atoms that can combine with a plethora of other atoms to create a myriad of stable chemical compounds, most notably hydrocarbons, the simplest organic molecule. Add some oxygen, nitrogen, and sulphur into the mix (all elements readily found on a prehistoric, volcanic Earth) and you have amino acids. Strings of amino acids form complex proteins, and with a little added phosphorus, you have DNA. Over millions of years, random mutations and adaptations to environments produced the organic systems you see today. This is not something that magically happened in two seconds like Scot would like me to tell him I believe.

The theory of evolution is a scientific theory, as it has been observed to happen over time. Theists latch onto that word "theory" though.

Isaac Asimov has this to say about that:

Even if that were the case, if you have observable, verifiable evidence to support your theory, then it doesn't matter if you were drunk, it's CORRECT. Scientific theories are not the same as general theories. A general theory is something we call a hypothesis, and I wish more people would understand the difference.

Returning to Scot (as much as I wish I didn't have to), like a good little Christian he told me he ignored my post after he read that all matter is nonliving, and just posted a link to a wikipedia page on the definition of matter like he had won the argument, even though it proves exactly what I just laid out in terms so simple a 10 year old could get it.

Can't have all those facts polluting your brain now, can we? Have to save those brain cells you refute the existence of to be able to blindly worship an Iron Age, Middle Eastern, tribal sky-god who tells you "You have free will so that you will do what I say".

In the immortal words of Professor Farnsworth:

Edit: Scot, the imbecilic monkey, responded with THIS little gem: "you probably think all molecules are alive and there is life on the moon, ha!" I don't even know where to begin. I hope he doesn't breed, I don't think our planet can handle any more abject stupidity.

That will be all.

Logical Fallacies Part One: The List

If you use ANY of these whilst attempting to debate with me about anything, your arguments will be summarily dismissed. You will have proven only one thing: that you don't understand logic, and therefore you don't understand my position. All you want to do is blather your wrong ideas and to hell with anyone who disagrees. That's not debate, that's self-gratification.

  • Ad Hominem: This is the best logical fallacy, and if you disagree with me, well, you suck.
  • Appeal To False Authority: Your logical fallacies aren't logical fallacies at all because Einstein said so. Einstein also said that this one is better.
  • Appeal To Emotion: See, my mom, she had to work three jobs on account of my dad leaving and refusing to support us, and me with my elephantitis and all, all our money went to doctor's bills so I never was able to get proper schooling. So really, if you look deep down inside yourself, you'll see that my fallacy here is the best.
  • Appeal to Fear: If you don't accept Appeal to Fear as the greatest fallacy, then THE TERRORISTS WILL HAVE WON. Do you want that on your conscience, that THE TERRORISTS WILL HAVE WON because you were a pansy who didn't really think that Appeal to Fear was worth voting for, and you wanted to vote for something else? Of course not, and neither would the people you let die because THE TERRORISTS WILL HAVE WON.
  • Appeal To Force: If you don't agree that Appeal to Force is the greatest logical fallacy, I will kick your ass.
  • Appeal To Majority: Most people think that this fallacy is the best, so clearly it is.
  • Appeal To Novelty: The Appeal to Novelty's a new fallacy, and it blows all your crappy old fallacies out the water! All the cool kids are using it: it's OBVIOUSLY the best.
  • Appeal To Numbers: Millions think that this fallacy is the best, so clearly it is.
  • Appeal To Tradition: We've used Appeal to Tradition for centuries: how can it possibly be wrong?
  • Argumentum Ad Nauseam: Argumentum ad nauseam is the best logical fallacy. Argumentum ad nauseam is the best logical fallacy. Argumentum ad nauseam is the best logical fallacy. Argumentum ad nauseam is the best logical fallacy. Argumentum ad nauseam is the best logical fallacy. Argumentum ad nauseam is the best logical fallacy. Argumentum ad nauseam is the best logical fallacy.
  • Begging The Question: Circular reasoning is the best fallacy and is capable of proving anything.Since it can prove anything, it can obviously prove the above statement.Since it can prove the first statement, it must be true. Therefore, circular reasoning is the best fallacy and is capable of proving anything.
  • Burden Of Proof: Can you prove that Burden of Proof isn't the best logical fallacy?
  • Complex Question: Have you stopped beating your wife and saying Complex Question isn't the best fallacy?
  • False Dilemma: I've found that either you think False Dilemma is the best fallacy, or you're a terrorist.
  • False Premise: All of the other fallacies are decent, but clearly not the best as they didn't come from my incredibly large and sexy brain.
  • Gambler's Fallacy: In all the previous talks about this subject, Gambler's Fallacy won, so I just know the Gambler's Fallacy is going to win this time!
  • Guilt By Association: You know who else preferred those other logical fallacies?*(insert pictures of Hitler, Stalin, and Pol Pot here)*
  • Non Sequitur: Non Sequitur is the best fallacy because none of my meals so far today have involved asparagus.
  • Post Hoc/False Cause: Since I've started presuming that correlation equals causation, violent crime has gone down 54%.
  • Red Herring: They say that to prove your fallacy is the best requires extraordinary evidence, because it's an extraordinary claim. Well, I'd like to note that "Extraordinary claims demand extraordinary evidence" is itself an extraordinary claim.
  • Relativism: Well maybe all those other fallacies are the best for you, but to me, the relativist fallacy is the greatest logical fallacy ever.
  • Slippery Slope: If you don't like Slippery Slope arguments, you will do poorly in class, drop out of school, commit crimes, go to prison, and die of AIDS.
  • Special Pleading: I know that everyone is posting about their favorite fallacies, but Special Pleading is out-and-out the best, so it should just win with no contest.
  • Appeal to Ignorance: No one has been able to prove that another fallacy is better than Appeal to Ignorance, so it must be the best.
  • Composition: Each of the other fallacies suck. The Fallacy of Composition is therefore better than the whole lot of them combined.
  • Division: This is the best list of fallacies. It follows that there could be no better description of the Fallacy of Division than this.
  • Equivocation: The best fallacy is on this list.Equivocation is on this list. Therefore, the best fallacy is equivocation.
  • The Fallacy Fallacy: Some have argued that the Fallacy Fallacy couldn't be the best fallacy because some arguments for it being the best fallacy are themselves fallacious. Clearly, this is a fallacious argument, from which we can only conclude that the Fallacy Fallacy is indeed the best fallacy.
  • False Analogy: Just as the jelly donut is the best donut, so too is False Analogy the best fallacy.
  • Hypostatization (personification):Go, Hypostatization Fallacy, you can do it! If you just try hard enough you can be the best fallacy there is! Oh come on now, don't look at me like that.
  • Use/Mention: If I mention the idea that "the use/mention fallacy is the best fallacy" then the use/mention fallacy is the best fallacy.

That will be all.

I hate internet people

Yes, I hate people. All people. I especially hate stupid people. None of these compare to the hatred I feel for people on the internet. It is incomparable. Inconceivable, even. Yes, I do know what that word means.

So why do I hate internet people, you might be asking yourself? I'm glad you brought it up. Let me tell ya...

So I play World of Warcraft, as many of you know. I recently got one of my old work friends here in Tucson to play with me on my server, and have been having a grand old time. Her husband wants to play too, but since they only have one PC, he made a character on her account, seeing no sense in purchasing a full separate account until they had a second PC.

Now, I know that sharing accounts is forbidden in the game's EULA. I've known it for a very long time. Putting aside the idiocy inherent in forbidding family members from sharing an account, I understand why it was listed in the license agreement. Too many dumb people would give their account info to some jerk they don't know and, for some reason, trust, and then get all their shit stolen and run crying to Blizzard to give it all back to them. I understand they made a bad decision to just put a blanket ban on all account sharing to save themselves some irritation. I get all that.

With that said, I posted on the support board on WoW.com, as there was a tool implemented that allowed characters to be split off of one account and put on its own, new account. This was introduced after many people clamored for a way to move their characters they didn't want to lose onto their own account after having given the game a try and liking it. So in this way, Blizzard was creating revenue by allowing family members to try the game on their sibling's/husband's/cousin's account and then letting them have their own separate paying account.

I should have expected this, really I should. In the first 5 minutes of my reasonable and polite request to see if this functionality was still available, no less than a dozen fucking WoWnerds pounced on my post with amazingly arrogant, condescending replies informing me that my friend was violating the terms of service, should be banned, was being reported (how I don't know since no info was given), and that they should be ashamed for breaking the rules. All of this in a written tone that equates to how one would speak to either a 5 year old or a really, really stupid person.

I respond with a sarcastic "Thank you for the very unhelpful and irrelevant responses, I already knew of the Terms of Service. My question remains unanswered. Are you really so naive as to think that married couples don't share accounts? Or parents letting their kid play a character as a reward for good grades, etc.? Anyone who doesn't have anything useful to contribute, please go drink a gallon of bleach."

Immediately I'm bombarded with demands to "watch my tone" and threats of ban reports and such, all the while still telling me that my question was answered (not answered), and that I should be grateful that anyone deigned to respond at all given my hostile attitude. Really? Also, apparently everyone who responded was a perfect law-abiding citizen who would never share an account with their significant other because it's a bad thing.

It was at this time that a board MVP showed up (basically huge nerds with no lives that moderate official forums for free when they could apply for the position and actually get PAID to do it), who informs me that telling someone to drink bleach is considered a personal threat (For real? Is everyone in this country a fucking pussy?) and that I would have my posting privileges revoked. I had not posted on any WoW boards for several years for JUST THIS REASON. Please, do your worst.

So I figured in for a penny, in for a pound. Oh yeah, I don't respond to threats. I went out in a blaze of glory such as has not been seen on the intarwebs since the time I got a permanent IP ban from the Crossroads of Dereth forums for daring to call out the mods on their insane banhappy powertrip back in 2002. Sadly, I doubt anyone will read my epic denunciations of pathetic corporate cocksluts who parrot policy like dutiful slaves for a company they don't even work for.

It's the overwhelming arrogance and superiority that gets me. I realize this is the internet and therefore you are anonymous, but really? Do you really have to act like an incredibly huge asshole to anyone who asks a simple question, just to make yourself feel better about your pathetic, basement-dwelling life? Guess what, pal; at the end of the day, you're still a sad, fat, ugly piece of shit who can't get any pussy unless you go to a pet store. You aren't better than me. Enjoy working pro bono for a company that doesn't pay you and doesn't give two shits about your selfless devotion to their inane policies. I'll continue only working one job and getting paid well for it, thank you.

Discipline: The Lost Art

Lately I've been getting extremely annoyed by certain people I know. These certain people that I know happen to be parents with young children, basically people of my generation who are now having their own kids. The thing that is annoying me is the complete lack of discipline these people utilize. It is literally boggling my mind.

Ok, so everyone (or at least most everyone) remembers their childhood as a place where there were specific times for eating meals, going to sleep, waking up, doing chores, etc., as well as very specific and usually unpleasant punishments for breaking the rules or doing things you should not. Yet even with all of this, most new parents of my generation are completely and ridiculously retarded when it comes to their kids. Lets look at a few, shall we?

1: The Overprotective Mother

As we all know, the world is a dangerous place. Bad shit happens all the time, and nothing good ever happens to anyone, or so the liberal media outlets want us to believe. The Overprotective Mother feels it is her divine duty to shield her child from any and all experiences that may possibly in some miniscule manner harm the kid. The poor kid is stuck spending most of their free time at home since doing things like going to a friend's house to play or hanging out in the backyard are too risky since we all know evil sexual predators lurk around every corner and behind every bush waiting to snatch up your child and do unspeakable things to them.

No, I don't believe that taking child molesters and such lightly is good, I want them all to die in horrific ways for the things they do. But all imagining some hidden danger around every corner does is drive you crazy and keeps your kids from experiencing life. Kids like this end up getting even more fucked up in the head than if you just let them go do shit out in the real world.

2: The Hippies (and other excessively passive types)

Children need discipline. They don't know things unless we as parents show them what not to do and how to do things properly. Hippies and other "free spirits" don't believe in any of this and prefer the "free range parenting" method. Passivity in parenting does absolutely nothing for a kid except teach them it's ok to be a fuckup in life cause you can live off the government and it's myriad social programs.

It drives me absolutely bonkers when I go out to the mall or a restaurant and run into these people with their kids. The child will be doing something that is exceptionally irritating (screaming, crying, being a brat in general), not only to their parents but also to everyone around them. Airplane flights are a prime example. Instead of doing what they should, the passive parent will either ignore/tune out the bad behavior (which sends me over the edge since just because you can tune it out doesn't mean the rest of us can), or they just keep doing ineffectual things like repeating "now don't do that, that's not nice" or "if you don't stop you won't be able to watch tv/play video games/etc." That airline flight attendant who got in trouble for smacking that screamin kid in the news a while back should not have done that. They should have slapped that stupid mother right in her fat, ugly face for being worthless.

3: The Hypochondriac Parent

Now this could have been lumped in with the overprotective mom, but I felt it deserved its own category since it is becoming more and more common these days. These parents think that when their child does something bad and doesn't stop (usually due to their useless passivity in trying to stop it), that something must be wrong medically with the kid. Unfortunately this is exacerbated by the fucking drug companies in this country that convince people there is a pill or treatment for every goddamn problem they have.

Example: Friend of mine has a kid who is like 8 or 9, who apparently is something of an expert liar. Well, expert in that he gets a lot of practice, not that he's any good. Now, he's been told that if he tells the truth about something bad he's done instead of lying he won't get in trouble, yet he does it anyways, and even when told that they know he is lying he'll still lie. I do not find this surprising, and here's why:

Kids will lie about pretty much everything to avoid possible punishment, EVEN when told they won't get in trouble, since it is pretty much inconceivable for a kid to fathom the concept of "do something bad and NOT get in trouble". I know I never believed it when I was a kid. Also, if caught a child will still try to deny their complicity in the vain hope of avoiding repercussions. This is not anything new and different. Kids have been doing this forever.

So back to my friend, she now thinks there is something wrong in her kids brain and is taking him to have a fucking psychiatric evaluation, which will probably lead to her doping her kid up with whatever bullshit pills the doc tells her he needs so he can get paid.

What all 3 have in common - When other people see this bullshit happening and try to offer friendly advice on how to get the kid on the right track, all 3 of these types of parents will VIOLENTLY react with extreme anger and venom, "How DARE you tell me how to be a parent you fucking asshole!" or "This isn't YOUR kid so don't tell me what I can and can't do!", etc., usually screamed at the unsuspecting person who is generally taken aback by such hatred.

Listen up folks: Having children does NOT, I repeat DOES NOT QUALIFY YOU TO ACTUALLY BE A PARENT. Getting indignant because someone has the temerity to suggest that you stop being a fuckup isn't going to improve anyone's opinion of you, and does not solve the underlying problem of you being a shitty parent. I know when I was a kid, if I stepped out of line I got the business end of a 2x4 that was kept outside my bedroom door as a reminder not to do bad things. Occasionally I would forget and need to be reminded (as it usually goes with children) and you can bet I would be a straight shooter for a long time after that.

And yes, before you remind me, I understand there are retarded parents who go way too far and stray into the realm of child abuse. However DISCIPLINE, when utilized properly, is NOT child abuse. Unfortunately CPS (Child Protective Services) paints that abuse category with a ridiculously broad brush, and for some reason has almost carte blanche as to what they can do to people who aren't doing anything wrong. Someone smackin their kid's ass in the store for being a whiny brat is NOT abuse, do not call CPS on them you fucking douchenozzle.

Discipline is needed now more than ever, I get told off by little shits when they zoom out in front of my car on their bikes and writing profane bullshit in the dust on the windows. My apartment complex just had to spend some bucks to clean up a GIGANTIC graffiti tag that some little bastard left on the entire property divider wall on the south edge of the lot, and it'll probably be back again in a week or so. Hell, my neighbors have 3 little screaming brats that just LOVE to run up and throw rocks at my fucking window and kick the living hell out of my door, and continue to do so after their parents have been told and assured me it would stop.

When I was a kid I was in bed by 8pm, no time to go out and commit crimes (even if I didn't live in the woods in VT). These kids are up til like 2am, it's ridiculous, I can hear em talkin back to their parents too and these kids are like 7 and 10, and they're saying some CRAZY shit. I wouldn't be able to taste anything but soap for a solid week if I talked like that, and wouldn't be able to sit down for an entire month. To illustrate how you know you're doing it right, I submit this:

I love my parents. I love them for having the wherewithal to discipline me when I did wrong and rewarding me when I did right. I am now a reasonably successful, intelligent, and happy human being because of it. I have no mental illnesses brought on by family issues, since there were and are no family issues. I have respect for those deserving of respect and disdain for those who don't. I'm courteous to others and generally only get into it when disrespected first by others, since I don't take shit from anybody. All in all my parents succeeded with me, AND my sister, who is married and has a doctorate in physical therapy. Yes, discipline is good for your kids. If you don't do it, then you obviously don't love them and want them to be complete and utter failure fuckups in life.

That will be all.

I fucking hate Vegans, and I don't mean aliens from Vega

Of all the types of people in this world, and there are a lot, I particularly despise three groups: conservatives, theists, and vegans. They all fit under the category of "stupid people", but today, I'm going to focus on the last group. I fucking hate vegans, and here's what brought this on today:

I'm cruising the intarwebz as I usually do, when I see someone has liked a video of chicks going through processing in a hatchery, with big bold words loudly proclaiming "EGGS ARE NOT HUMAN FOOD! BUYING EGGS MEANS YOU THROW BABY ROOSTERS INTO GRINDERS!" etc. etc.

I comment on it, saying how posting misinformation like this only does one thing: make you look like a pretentious and arrogant asshole, which is the perception of vegans by about 95% of the population. Just because you don't understand how food processing to feed our exploding population works, doesn't mean it's immoral or wrong because it involves meat. By your "logic", NOTHING is human food since it means something has to die to feed us. Until you can figure out a way for us to survive on nothing but light or air, shut the fuck up.

Then, I see my post immediately removed, and this:

I'm pretty sure your "learning zone" is more like a fascist "agree with me or be silenced" zone. Goebbels has nothing on you, honey.

I'm fine with people having opinions. I'm fine with people choosing to be vegetarians, although I think it's silly and pointless, as there's no way to avoid killing things in order to survive. It's impossible. What I have a problem with, are the people who flat out refuse to let anyone voice their opposition, for fear of being proven wrong, or being made to look like an idiot.

Just because someone doesn't agree with you, doesn't mean they don't have a conscience or intelligence, it means that they have accepted that physical reality is not something you can just decide to ignore or alter because you think thousands of years of human evolution is wrong. We're animals, we eat plants AND meat, that's the definition of an omnivore. If we were supposed to eat nothing but plants, things would have turned out very differently.

I especially hate the condescending, superior attitude that is almost required of anyone who is vegan. I seriously want to slap the shit out of this stupid cunt for her casual dismissal and her holier-than-thou attitude. Seriously, fuck you, bitch. Having a fucking steak is not animal abuse, it's called normal human biology. You're the people who are unnatural, doing something the human body wasn't designed to do. It's no wonder a lot of vegans have to take supplements to not be all sickly and weak, it's because they don't get the nutrition that meat/chicken/eggs/fish provides. Maybe in the future when we're able to synthesize everything from a stock of base elements like replicators from Star Trek, then we won't have to worry about hurting the poor widdle animals, but until then, welcome to fucking reality.

I feel like I have to speak to that retarded leap in "logic" too. If you're a vegan because you find it morally objectionable to kill things to be your food... you do realize plants are alive, right? It's ok to eat them though, because they don't have cute widdle faces, right? You've somehow come to peace with the fact that you're eating all of your precious animal's food, right? Seriously, get a fucking grip and grow a goddamn brain.

Being vegan has nothing to do with "saving the animals" or being healthier, it's all just a way for these punks to feel morally superior to everyone else for doing what humans evolved to do. Maybe in the future we'll evolve past needing to eat meat, but until then, I'm going to go eat a gigantic fucking hamburger, bloody and greasy and juicy. That doesn't make me ignorant or immoral, it makes me fucking hungry.

Oh, this is the response a few minutes later. Apparently I'm a pervert and a creep now because the dumb blonde cunt doesn't know her page is public.

Seriously, all vegans can choke on a fucking dick. All of them.

That will be all.
